Construction of Bessel-Gauss Type Solutions for the Telegraph Equation

چکیده
The specific solutions of the telegraph equation for 3D space are constructed. These solutions enable us to obtain the wavefunctions which are akin to the Bessel-Gauss wave modes. The solutions of the homogeneous and inhomogeneous equations are compared. The application of the obtained wave structures to the description of the electromagnetic fields in a special case of inhomogeneity of the medium is discussed.

A tale of two beams: an elementary overview of Gaussian beams and Bessel beams
An overview of two types of beam solutions is presented, Gaussian beams and Bessel beams. Gaussian beams are examples of non-localized or diffracting beam solutions, and Bessel beams are example of localized, non-diffracting beam solutions. Gaussian beams stay bounded over a certain propagation range after which they diverge. Bessel beams are among a class of solutions to the wave equation that...
متن کاملChebyshev Spectral Collocation Method for Computing Numerical Solution of Telegraph Equation
In this paper, the Chebyshev spectral collocation method(CSCM) for one-dimensional linear hyperbolic telegraph equation is presented. Chebyshev spectral collocation method have become very useful in providing highly accurate solutions to partial differential equations. A straightforward implementation of these methods involves the use of spectral differentiation matrices. Firstly, we transform ...
متن کاملClosed Form Solutions for Linear Differential and Difference Equations
Finding closed form solutions of differential equations has a long history in computer algebra. For example, the Risch algorithm (1969) decides if the equation y′ = f can be solved in terms of elementary functions. These are functions that can be written in terms of exp and log, where “in terms of” allows for field operations, composition, and algebraic extensions. More generally, functions are...
متن کاملBlock error rate of optical wireless communication systems over atmospheric turbulence channels
Block error rate performance of subcarrier intensity modulation based optical wireless communication systems is analysed over Gamma–Gamma and lognormal atmospheric turbulence channels. The analysis is applicable to non-coherent binary modulations and coherent binary phase shift keying. The special cases of K-distributed strong turbulence channel and negative exponential turbulence channel are a...
